Suggests the latter for first timers to the genre. First off, when you start career mode it makes you choose wrc junior or wrc champ. Ive been playin wrc10 for about 2 hours trying to adjust. Lastly: What is your intended platform? There are issues on PS5 and some wheel/sound issues on PC depending on HW used. Wheel support is a bit better in DR2.0 but at least for common wheels like G920 works fine in both games. UI in WRC is a bit clunky but you can manage whole event setup ingame while in DR you need to switch to browser. In WRC it has some design flaws but is fun if you don't have experience with previous games.Ĭlubs were better in DR but after last update are on par, I'd say. On nextgen consoles both run 4k/60fps.Ĭareer is by far superior in WRC, in DR it is totally uninspired and I basically play only community events. On console WRC lacks better antialiasing so can probably look better on PC? Some weather effects are nicer in WRC + it has dynamic weather option so you can experience both sun and rain in one stage, which is refreshing. On thr other hand DR feels sometimes too blurry and cartoonish, lowres. Some textures/assets are brilliant in WRC, some are ugly, making it somewhat uneven experience. Visuals are slightly better on DR but just because their art team is better at postprocessing and overal color grading. Damage model was better in older WRC games. They tuned it down for WRC10 probably because you now can play 16 stage rallies in Career mode. Sound is much better in DR, but I can live WRC sound, could be definitely better though.ĭamage model is better in DR, you're more on the edge because one hit can end your stage. Additionally it has 20km stages (so called epic stages, which for example in newly added Greece means around 14min of adrenaline). WRC creates denser stages with more terrain changes and interesting bits glued together in faster succession. Dirt aimed at real life stages which means they tend to be very similar in one rally location and a bit dull. Cars are easier to get used to and maybe overall a bit too grippy, but modern WRC have such a massive aerodynamic kits they should probably have more grip than group B monsters. Handling in WRC10 is better on tarmac, on par on gravel. I played DR2.0 a lot and then switched to WRC 9, 10. My perspective is from Xbox One X, Series X. It improved dramatically from WRC6 no matter what majority of this subreddit says. Two rally games are always better than one. DR doesn't even come close, especially for stages, but come to think of it, nothing but RBR with downloadable stages does, so that isn't really damning commentary, at least not to me. TL DR- WRC 10 has far better stages and more of them, and in my opinion, has better overall physics and contemporary car choice. My only issues are the bizarre choices made by KT during development for some UI elements/sound/mechanics of single player, but I'm sure those are evident from a 5 minute scan on the Reddit/their forum. Plus WRC 10 has vastly improved all round physics compared to 7-9. As far as stages go, WRC 9+10 have more than you could comfortably shake a stick at without getting RSI, and the variety/authenticity shits on DR for days, and I do not say that lightly. DR is woeful on tarmac, and WRC does a lot very well there, with the exception of the historic cars, which could do with some love. But for a rally enthusiasts game? Well, tbf, dirt rally never had great physics, so KTs offering is far superior there imo, especially on tarmac. As far as presentation goes, dirt rally 2.0 surpasses it in nearly every way (sound, graphics, interface).
